This salad is a quick side. It’s the perfect accompaniment for Spicy Tofu Buns. The sauce can be substituted with a pre-made Ponzu sauce plus the addition of the sesame oil and ginger. Most Ponzu sauces contain fish flakes so be sure to check if you need one that’s vegetarian-friendly.

Okonomiyaki – Japanese Vegetable Pancake

The sauce for these vegetable pancakes completely changes the flavor. They can be made ahead and held in a warm oven for up to an hour. If holding longer than 15 minutes, only heat the oven to 250F.

Other toppings can be added, including mayonnaise or chopped scallions.
